Privacy
From The Latin root "privates": which means separated from the rest, and "privo": deprived of something. Is the ability of an individual or group to seclude themselves thereby reveal themselves selectively. The boundaries and content of what is considered private differ among cultures and individuals, but share basic common themes. Privacy is sometimes related to anonymity, the wish to remain unnoticed or unidentified in the public realm. The term "privacy" means many things in different contexts. I'm interested in the way people deal with privacy in different cultures, countries and places and their expectations about how much privacy a person is entitled to or what constitutes an invasion of privacy. Privacy is an attempt to understand the way people behave themselves in public and why they choose to act a certain way.
